Hello from Montague! How is everyone?
So this week was harder, but I made it through!
Monday: I finished the Book of Mormon! I started it at the MTC and finished it, with the focus on Faith. Now I'm reading through again and marking everything pertaining to Repentance. It's a great way to learn the stories better and to find good scriptures on the most important principles of the gospel. "There was a beautiful sunset tonight, the whole sky was lit up in different hues, it was breathtaking. I just need to be strong, enjoy every blessing, be happy in my circumstances, and always look to Christ" -My journal
Tuesday: We taught a new investigator, (but she's not very solidly interested it turns out...) Then we met with and talked to this lady who has a beautiful dog! Newfie/lab mix, looks like my dog Prince! Just bigger. haha. She's going to let us teach her because she thinks it's good for us to practice. So hey! If that happens to lead to her finding the truth then whatever works. We're happy to share the gospel in any way.
Wednesday: What a great day, we had a lesson with an investigator who is just soaking up everything! We did service for our Branch President, helped put fertilizer on his plants, and then we went with his family for a picnic on the beach for supper! Oh, it was just amazing, but kinda cold. Still, I loved it. Unfortunately I left my camera at a Member's house so I'll have to send pics next week.
Thursday: What an exhausting day. We worked so hard! Don't know if we worked smart. But we worked hard. We had some appointments fall through, no lessons. All walking down country lanes and around Montague. We went to teach a firiend but that didn't happen. Her kids are amazing though, I love them! When Sister Sharp and I got home we filled the bathtub and did our planning with our feet in hot water. Boy did that feel good! It was just a crazy hot day.
Friday: the good news is that another of our investigators is doing better. She finally decided to skip the Isaiah chapters in the Book of Mormon for now. We watched the Restoration video and it was really great. I love the spirit that it brings.
Saturday: We taught our progressing investigator again and I felt the Spirit very strongly! She truly wants to draw closer to God.
Sunday: Mothers Day! One thing I love about being a missionary is that when a holiday or significant event or something is coming up, we pretty much get to spend all week thinking about it, and studying and it helps me appreciate it a lot more. So this week I have been taking a few minutes to think of a few things that I have learned from my mom. And some of those are Patience, creativity, and the importance of family. I got to talk to My family on Skype and that was so wonderful! I love them all :) It makes me feel not so far away, but also motivated to just do the best that I can! I always want to make my mom and dad proud. At church they gave Sister Sharp and I flowers with the rest of the women! haha that's a first. We also had a scrumptious Lobster Supper with the Aitken family. What a treat! Real Meritimes Lobster, yum.
I hope that you all had a great Mothers day, and that you have taken some time to think about the blessings in your lives. Remember! Time is short, the battle is on, at the end of your life will you see that you chose to follow God and to choose strength and faith and family? It's up to us to make the best out of what we have. A quote that Sister Sharp told me is this, "Things turn out best for the people who make the best out of the way things turn out." I believe it is true. I hope you have a great week!
