Hey Everyone!
I just want to start by saying I LOVE YOU!!!
Well here's a bit about my week! It was really fun and exciting!
First off. I LOVE Newfoundland. This place is beautiful, the people are so sweet and cute, and I just love it! we had an exciting week, from moose, to icebergs, to 7 hour car road trips. yeah. It was an adventure. (not to mention we went to a place called "Happy Adventure"!!!!)
Monday: After p-day was finished we knocked a few doors and headed over to Choir Practice! We're part of a community Choir, the "Baccaleau Sound"! (that is the name of our area or county I think. And I'm sure I spelled it wrong, but it's something like that) Choir is really fun, it's a great way to learn some local tunes and to make friendships! In particular, I love this woman named Anne, she's really sweet and has an adorable laugh, she shared her music with me a week ago and I just love her so much!
Tuesday: What a busy day! Apartment inspections, Mission Leadership Conference (via skype) service with less actives, visiting former investigators, and our Choir Performance in Port Au Grave at the Anglican Church! Somehow at the performance I ended up not having any music to read, and I'd only been to two practices! Thankfully my prayers were answered and I was able to stand tall and sing with everyone else, I remembered most of the songs! haha we had a few moments that were touch and go, but over all it was a wonderful evening!
Wednesday: We had District meeting in St. John's whew, so much travelling, and we came back, received some instruction about using facebook then attended the branch "Doctrine of the Gospel" class. We learned so much about the Holy Ghost and His role. It was wonderful!
Thursday: More service, this time at a local thrift store/ food pantry, we got to meet some nice people as we cleaned up the pants rack haha. Our lesson fell through, so we had to drop them. But that evening we were able to meet with a woman who has come to church and met with missionaries on and off for 20 years! She knows it is true she said "No one could convince me it's not true, in fact I'd probably convince them!" So we are really excited to teach her again and we are praying the time is finally right for her to get baptized!
Friday: After weekly planning (man, it was intense too!) We had a meeting with the other missionaries in our Unit and then we embarked on our 7 hour drive to Corner Brook for visits with Sister Spencer and Sister Lund. We saw 5 MOOSE! It was awesome. Sister Hoy never saw them until I spotted them and showed her where they were. She was so surprised, guess I've had plenty of practice during my time in Alaska. I'm a natural moose spotter ;)
Saturday: We worked all day with the Sisters! It was a lot of fun, and really warm! It got up to 20 degrees! (Which is... in the 60's for you) It was crazy!
Sunday: We attended church in corner brook and just stayed for the first hour. Then we drove back down home, we stopped on our way to visit some members in the far out places (there is one place in our area to which it is faster to fly than to drive. hahaha it's four hours drive, but just a 45 minute flight if we stopped in St. John's to catch a plane... sheesh!) But we went to Gloverstown and HAPPY ADVENTURE! That was the best named town I've ever been to. And it was gorgeous. We did indeed have a very happy adventure yesterday. We also saw 2 moose on our way home.
What a fun week! I've learned a lot, hit my 15 month mark, and I'm really excited to see what this week brings!
