Hello everyone!
I hope that you are having a great week. I sure did. I love you all. And I am so thankful for all of you who have supported me and helped me through these times.
Monday: We we had a branch activity! A corn boil! It was a great activity and we had a lot of people out. so fun.
Tuesday: After a great District Meeting in Moncton, we said goodbye to Elder Collett and Elder McGuire! Who got emergency transferred to a different area in a different zone. They were great missionaries. We no longer have a district leader, so our zone leaders are acting as our district leaders until next transfer. We also had a great lesson with one of our recent converts, and had supper with our wonderful members. Then we taught institute!
Wednesday: We have been running around like crazy, trying to get our apartment clean and empty by the end of the week as our landlady requested. We also had to juggle that with working on our area and member books, then we had exchanges with the sister training leaders! Sister Burten and I stayed in Amherst. We had some great Less Active visits, and we did training about Preach My Gospel and how to manage an area. It definitely helped me to get a handle on things, and feel like I understood more of what was going on.
Thursday: Once we exchanged back with Sister Coleman and Sister Spencer in Moncton (after getting lost and having some weird guys offer us directions) We headed back to Amherst where we had supper with the Veinots, and a lesson with our friends. They are doing really well!
Friday: Meetings meetings, cleaning, meetings. What crazy day! Luckily we didnt have a game night, so we got to work on our area book and finish up our apartment. We also helped to decorate the church for Dave and Connies wedding!
Saturday: Wedding day! We had a great day. We started off by chucking wood for one of our members (boy am I sore!) we did a lot of contacting, and were able to receive some solid referrals which led to a potential! That was great. That night at 8pm was the wedding! The bride showed up 10 minutes late because her driver got lost hahahaha. (her driver was her brother) It was a simple affair, but what a great step for them to take! They are on date for baptism for September 27th!
Sunday: We had a bittersweet day at church. It was the Veinots last Sunday. They served in Amherst for 10 months and are now back at home with their family in Yarmouth. Which is still in Nova Scotia, so I am hoping to get transferred there and see them again one day! I have really grown to love them, the branch was devastated to see them go, which was really sweet. We had a linger longer afterwards and we celebrated the new senior couple, the Lockhearts. I am very excited to serve with them, and to see the good they can do with this branch.
It was a busy week! It is always amazing how many things fill our hours, and how there is never enough time. I am really starting to understand how short missions are. I never thought I would say it, but time is flying by too fast! I love it here, I love being a missionary!
My testimony has grown so much, I know that Heavenly Father knows we are imperfect, and he is willing to help us through every challenge we encounter. It is with many many prayers that I have come to where I am today. and I cannot wait to continue! I am confident this week will be better than last, and that the work will continue to progress! I love the gospel. And I am so thankful for all of the people who have helped me to get here.
Love,
Sister Smith
