Hello Everyone! Happy May :)
So my week was pretty good, how was yours? Here are the highlights:
Tuesday: What a busy day! Between our District meeting in Charlottetown and exchanges in Moncton I was busy alll day. I got to go serve in Moncton with Sister Lewis which was really cool. She taught me how to introduce myself and her as missionaries in French! She serves in Moncton/Dieppe which is a French area. On our way to Charlottetown Sister Sharp went to the Water Street Fish 'n Chips and tried a Burger Love. And it was scrumptious!
Wednesday: Back to Montague for me! Not a lot else happening though. The work has been slow. But we just keep trying as much as we can!
Thursday: Welcome to May! I finished my first journal for my mission. I probably wrote too much in it, but I'm moving on to a new journal. It's been fun to look back at my experience so far. I've learned a lot. And I can hardly believe it's May already! Sister Sharp and I were out tracting for an hour or two in pouring rain, just really really drenched. We were about to get to the car to go home when an old lady saw us and yelled and called us over to get out of the rain. We went in and talked to her. (turns out Sister Sharp knows her) and before we left she gave us a huge bag of frozen popcorn chicken! haha that was funny, and very yummy too!
Friday: We have started posting flyers around town about our Facebook Page! And we got to help this lady with raking her lawn! A lot of people here really don't want to accept help, but we get right to it and they appreciate it. Someone who turned us down for another lesson told us we were "famous, and I mean famous, for helping people." That was pretty nice to hear.
Saturday: We walked for hours with little success, then our District Leader, Elder Horner, and his companion Elder Sutter came for visits. We had a couple of great lessons. One with our investigator who is on date for baptism on May 24th! and another with someone who isn't as committed, so sad to see her struggle! At the end of the day while we were planning Sister Sharp noticed that I was so red! My arms got sunburned, and a little bit of my cheekbones too! Nothing bad, but still, it was sunny for Canada! Spring is definitely here.
Sunday: Church was wonderful, I love fast Sundays and the opportunity there. We watched the CES broadcast with Elder Ballard which was amazing! He talked about technology and how it gets in the way of real quiet time to feel the spirit. I think it is so important to have time to ponder.
Okay I'm about out of time, but that's what's been going on with me. We only have two investigators but I know hard work will bring many blessings! I hope all of you are doing your best, staying firm in the faith, always loving the people around you and following Christ.
Thanks to Shawna and Amanda Nelson! I got wonderful letters this week, I love them!
Love Sister Smith
