Well Happy Thanksgiving! Hello everyone!
I am thankful for the wonderful people who have ben in my life. I have been blessed by so many who are kind, and charitable. Thank you for all you have done!!
This week has been so much fun!
Monday: We started off the week right, that's contacting of course! We had apartment inspections too though, which helped motivate us to get our apartment nice and clean.
Tuesday: The contacting continues! We do not currently have any investigators any more. SO that means we hit the sidewalk, talk to everyone we see and go out of the box looking for service opportunities.
Wednesday: We had an early morning interview with President Leavitt! He came through Amherst at 7:45 this morning. We had our in person interviews then rushed over to Truro (a mere hour and some drive) for our district meeting. After that we headed up to Pugwash where we visited some of the members! It was a fun day, I just love the members in this branch! One couple had us over for supper, and we had a wonderful discussion about missionary work and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Thursday: Right at 7am we were on the road (so no studies once again) We were headed to Rictoboucto. or something like that. It is an hour and a half drive into New Brunswick, so we could meet up with the Bathurst Sisters. Sister Coleman is also a Sister Training Leader, so she needed to go on exchanges with them. And guess what! I got to drive home on the way back, and I got to drive all that day! That was the first time in 8 months that I have driven a car! It was so wonderful :) Sister Fincher and I worked the day away just the two of us. We had a great time contacting and getting referrals. All in all a wonderful day.
Friday: Our early traveling ritual continued as we headed back up to pick Sister Coleman up. Then we came back just in time for weekly planning. After a correlation meeting with the Lockharts we went and visited with a less active member. I got some wonderful teaching materials from my sister and brother-in-law so I got to use those to re-teach the plan of salvation! It was so fun! Then we headed to the Church to watch 17 Miracles for the activity night. It is such a wonderful movie! I simply loved it. I always am so inspired by the stories of the pioneers.
Saturday: the contacting theme continues. We knocked, street contacted, and best of all Street Party Contacted! Amherst had a cowboy town themed street party. There was a bouncy house, mechanical bulls, miniature pony, the works! It was awesome. We didn't get to ride the ponies, but we did get to talk to a lot of people!
Sunday: Fast Sunday was wonderful, we spent the day talking to people and doing as missionaries do.
All in all it was a very busy week. We are trying so hard to find people to teach, to do service, and just make the world a better place one smile at a time. I always go out of my way to smile at people or wave, because I know that even if they won't accept us or our message if they can smile just once it makes their day a little bit better.
Love you all!
