Hello from Cole Harbour Nova Scotia!
*There's an important message at the end!!!*
I've jumped province again and here I am, a beautiful area with the Canada Halifax Temple in it. So great. Well here's how everything worked together this week.
Monday: I tried to pack and get as much done as I could then we went to a family home evening that night at the Martlands. Turned out it was a Screech-in! it's a funny Newfoundland "intiation" kind of thing, it involves Kissing a Cod. That was gross. But now I'm an Honorary Newfoundlander. So it was totally worth it.
Tuesday: We had a lesson with a friend and said goodbye! :( She was so sweet and brought me a little gift bag. We also stopped by this family that I met in one of my first weeks in Newfoundland. Hopefully Sister Fenn will be able to teach them.
Wednesday: Airport 2 vs. Missionaries 0 We tried to fly out (twice) for transfers but the fog and issues were too much. So Sister Troutner, Elder Hogg, and Elder Wolvers and I were stuck in St. John's for another day.
Thursday: Airport 0 vs. Missionaries 1! We finally made it onto a plane and off the Island. so we're back to Nova Scotia! Unfortunately we missed the temple... but all is well and we did what we could. It was sad to say goodbye to Sister Fenn. I'll love her forever! Best friends! But I got to meet Sister Tait and her and Sister Troutner and I spent the day together! Sister Tait is my new companion, fresh from the MTC. She is fabulous :D Very confident, happy, and energetic. We get along great already!!
Friday: We honestly just spent most of the day trying to figure out where we were and who was in our area. It was exhausting! But fun. we're whitewashing in and so there's a lot to figure out like where to do laundry etc. One funny story is that when we got to our apartment on thursday in the bathroom was a roll of Paper Towel and a note saying "we ran out of toilet paper but didn't want to buy more... sorry) hahaha that was great... We had a dinner appointment (sister tait's very first one!) with the Hattons, a great family!
Saturday! Now this was more like it! We got in some quality street contacting, walking around neighborhoods, talking to people, it was great! And we taught one of our investigators. She's incredibly active and brought out this huge lego set so we had to fly with it and relate obedience, scriptures, and prayers to legos. It went well! She made a heaven and earth with a little bridge as prayer. So cute.
Sunday: First Sunday in the Ward! It's a beautiful ward, we attend church at the stake center (a three minute walk from our apartment) and everyone was so cute and friendly! We already love it here, and love the members. We're excited to serve and learn and help them to feel Christs love as much as we can this transfer!
So things went fabulously and I'm excited for all of the good things to come!
In case you didn't know. I only have 6 WEEKS LEFT so. NOW IS THE TIME to write a letter. Please!!!!! I would love to receive a letter or postcard with why Christ matters to YOU! It will help me to stay motivated, remember who I serve, and build my testimony. Thanks so much! If you want my address let me know and I will get it to you. Or ask my mom, that works too.
Thank you so much. have a great week!
Love Sister Smith
