Hey Everyone! Good to see ya :) I hope you're having a fantastic week!
Here are some of the things I liked about Conference:
Claudio D. Zivic
The notes I took down from his talk were mostly about communication. I thought that that was so important! For me as a missionary and for just regular people. It's so important to be able to communicate with patience and clarity! To treat all people with kindness, civility and love.
Quentin L. Cook
His talk about family history work was so inspiring! My biggest regret is not being more involved with geneology and family history before my mission. To know that all those who came before us need the sacred ordinances of the temple makes me want to learn more and do my part to help them!
President Dieter F. Uchtdorf
What an amazing talk! Trails are not the End. And that commandments are opportunities to exercise our agency and receive blessings! I love the perspective those statements give. "Through the eyes of Faith we look past our current circumstances" Sometimes a day can be hard, or a person can be in a rough part of life, but if we have faith it puts everything in perspective and makes it more endurable.
Gary E. Stevenson
Have the Urgency to be Righteous! Do we all have that urgency? do we see the grand scheme of things?
President Thomas S. Monson
Love is the Essence of the Gospel. Who wouldn't take notice of this talk? It was amazing. To make sure that we aren't hurting other people in what we say and do. Reaching out to those in need, and not holding grudges. "Blame keeps wounds open" How horrible! We need to become like Christ and love and forgive. I know I can be better at that.
So those were just some of my favorites. I loved them all and cannot wait until we get the conference ensign so I can read them and just yeah! I love conference.
Here's the run down of last week.
Well it was the last week of the Transfer. That was pretty crazy. One transfer is already gone, I hope that I have accomplished a lot. Looking back right now it doesn't seem so, but I have hope for the future.
Monday: I cooked curry! Oh that was delicious. And it actually turned out really well! I Love my mom, she sent me the seasoning because they don't have it here. I have a lot more I can still use and I look forward to cooking that. It's a taste of home.
Tuesday: It was pretty crazy, the best part was the Town Variety Show that we helped put on. It was a benefit for Relay for Life. The turn out wasn't fantastic, but it was fun to see the people there who care about the community.
Wednesday: Everything we had planned happened. It was so weird! we were in meetings all day with less actives or investigators. Two are progressing well! But neither has a baptismal date. We're still working on that.
Thursday: Pretty much nothing went according to plan on Thursday. We did end up with a lot of contacts which was good. but we were supposed to have two member present lessons and we ended up with none. Sad day.
Friday: Besides the usual grueling weekly planning, we taught one and met with a brand new investigator! She is 17 and has a baby. Which is crazy. But she's really nice and we're excited to teach her.
Saturday:
We were out all day walking and knocking and checking potential investigators with not a lot of luck. We did get a new investigator which was fun. She has two kids, . And they're both fantastic. I really hope she wants to learn more. I think she might just be looking for people to talk to... She has two great big dogs. So basically she's awesome. She's also eerily similar to Sister Sharp which is funny. Sister Sharp also is a lot like Sarah. Oh the people you meet! Another fun thing is a meal we had with the Branch Missionaries Brother and Sister James, (she's the one who broke her ankle) She cooked pacifc salmon and Irish Potatoes for us! Oh wonderful. I loved it :D
Sunday: We had dinner at the Devries, which was scrumptious. They always feed us really well all stuff they make and grow. So we had home made spaghetti balls and mashed potatoes, and apple sauce and things like that. Yum. Okay so enough about food. We had a member missionary lesson with them. and then we contacted like crazy to reach our goal this week of 90. We didn't quite get it, we still needed two people. But to know we reached out to 88 people this week was great. And we had a lot of fun too.
Okay, so that's all I've got. If there is anything specific you want me to talk about or if you have questions. Just let me know.
Love you all!
