Hello! here is the big news, I'm getting transferred!!!!!!
It's crazy but I am really leaving Amherst. I'll be heading to my new area of Presque Isle which is in Maine! AH! I'm going to the States! I'm going to be an American again!!! So that is really exciting. I will have my new address next week and then you can send me letters and packages WAY easier :D
I am going to miss Amherst a lot! I've really come to love the people here. Well, let me tell you about this week.
Monday: We had a great day, doing some shopping (I bought my first toque! (canadian version of a beanie haha) and contacting a lot!
Tuesday: Sister Coleman has just had SO many skype calls, because she is an stl (sister training leader) so we were in the church a lot calling president, calling the leaders, and then having our very own sisters skype call with all of us in the zone. We learned a lot about dedication! We also had a great lesson with friends about the Plan of Salvation.
Wednesday: This was a wonderful day! And very fun, The big event was our community outreach that evening! We had our Polar Bear night! We had a great time skyping in to Churchill, Manitoba to learn about the polar bears. I even got to see my dad! It was great. we had about 28 people there mostly who were members. But it was a fun event nonetheless and we learned a lot. Everyone says they love dad, that he's funny, great and someone even said that he's very handsome. So that's pretty funny. Definitely a highlight.
Thursday: We had district meeting in Truro! What a fun district we have. It was definitely random but I am glad we got to be part of it. (it's only random because that district isn't technically in our zone, we were sort of misfits that got adopted by it.)
Friday: Halloween! Because it was the holiday we switched our day around to work in the morning and stay in from dinner on to weekly plan. Planning is definitely a little more difficult when you are interrupted by trick-or-treaters! We also helped move one of our members to a new place!
Saturday: HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIKE!! It is my Big Brothers Birthday! We had a great time exploring a local waterfowl park. The birds there are so friendly if you put your hand out they will fly right to it! of course we didn't have any seeds for them, but if we ever go back we definitely will! We even tried tree-contacting while we were out there! Sister Coleman saw someone had carved their phone number into a tree, so she called it and had a great conversation with someone! It was very random and funny.
Sunday: Stake Conference! This time it was broadcast out to our chapel, so we watched the conference from there. It was very uplifting and spiritual! and just helped me to remember how important every one of God's children are to Him. We also recieved our transfer letters! Sister Coleman is staying in Amherst, and Sister Fincher is going to Truro. It is such a crazy transfer, i hope I am prepared for it!
I've had a great week, some lovely meals at the members, good times with contacting and rain. (oh it rained buckets, yesterday my feet were just completely soggy all the time) and as always we saw a million cats. life as a missionary is never predictable! And it's always a blast. I love serving the Lord!
I will be getting my new address next week and I'll send that out. I'm so thankful for the time I have had in Amherst. I will always love this place and the people here. It's been a wonderful 5 1/2 months.
Hope all of you are doing well! and now that I will be in the states sending mail will be soo much easier! so I'm excited to get letters from my family members (*cough cough, brooke, andy, sarah, dad, mom, and mike...) and friends! haha And in the meantime, I'll try to write more too. My new companion is Sister Fenn, all I know is that she is from Payson Utah, and we will be whitewashing in together! (which means neither of us have been there before!) So it will be an exciting week!
love you all!
