Hello Everyone!
I can't believe it is already week 4 of the transfer. Time, as always, is flying by. I love being a missionary, I love this lifestyle. It is very simple, very focused on progression, Christ, the scriptures. I find a lot of peace in the scriptures, and I am so thankful for living prophets today. I absolutely loved conference. It was amazing. This has actually been an incredibly spiritual week. All that I can say to explain it, is that Christ lives. God loves each of us, and His hand is in our lives, every day.
Monday: As soon as we could we packed up and headed to Fredricton! Sister Bowden got dropped off with the sisters there and Sister Lybbert and Sister Christiansen (they both came out on their missions at the same time as me!) picked me up and we drove to Dartmouth! (nova scotia) where we stayed the night with the Cole Harbour sisters, Sister Ward and my trainer Sister Sharp!!!
Tuesday: we went to a special early morning session at the Temple. The Canada Halifax Temple! What an amazing experience. There was so much peace, and familiarity. That was the first time in 13 months since I had been to the temple! And it was unforgettable. Temples are just so beautiful, you definitely feel close to the Savior there. After the temple we had an all day leadership training meeting. I learned so much and was very inspired!
Saturday: General Conference! This is a special time, we hear from our living Prophet every six months, and this Saturday and Sunday is one of those times. General conference is a time to listen to God's counsel to the world in our day. I was very impressed by everything I heard.
There was a lot about eternal families said, and it really helped me to feel inspired to share this message with the world. People need to know that they don't have to be together just until "death do you part".
Sunday: Conference again, and Easter, a wonderful time :) This conference I also heard a lot about mediocrity. Our minimum effort just isn't enough. We have to give everything! And through Christ we can change, we can eliminate unhealthy behaviors, we can grow to be more like Him. I'm excited to become the best person I can, and I hope to help many others on that journey as well
love you all,
Sister Smith
