Hello everyone!
Isn't Easter coming up quick? I feel like it was just last month, not last year!!
Well, here are some of the highlights of my week!
Monday: FHE (family home evening!) with the Tarr family! They're very sweet, and let us pick our food! Kind of a weird combo, but we had taco salads and banana splits! YUM I love banana splits, that's my favorite dessert!
Tuesday: My Easter package from the family came, soo sweet :) We had some meetings in the morning and Sister Bowden was sick. So we did a lot of phone calls. But despite that we had a fairly successful day! Got a lot done :)
Wednesday: District meeting in Houlton! I love my little district, they are so funny. I got to give a doctrinal discussion and we talked about the Creation, and Adam and Eve, I went through the steps of how to use our mission-wide study guide and then had everyone practice finding scriptures that went with it and finding the context/main points of the scriptures. Just a little moment for me to pass on some of my "mission knowledge" to the young missionaries in my district!
Thursday: Up to Canada we went! Our lesson fell through, but we were able to do some service for one of the members, she's so sweet! Basically an adopted mom. We made some cookies with her and then had a lesson with a less active member. Then we had our Book of Mormon study group! We did a talk this time "Safety for the Soul" by Elder Holland. It was so great!
Friday: Weekly planning... wohoo! We had a lesson with our investigator and her cute daughter. She is so cute, and knew a lot. Unfortunately, I left my planner there! nooo! They live out on the reservation, and I haven't been able to get it back yet. Missionaries without planners are just... not complete missionaries! We had a fun time driving out to Danforth for a supper appointment with the Frye family. They live up by a deer farm!? That was cool. And on the way back we saw a beautiful sunset, and A MOUNTAIN! the first REAL MOUNTAIN I have seen since I left Utah. It was a beautiful sight to see.
Saturday: General Women's Session of Conference! Wohoo! We were able to attend a broadcast, had an icecream social (they had all the good stuff, even magic shell! My favorite!!!) And we watched the wonderful talks. I am thankful for the way the messages were centered around Families! It is just so important, and I was so grateful for my family and the wonderful childhood they provided me with. It just inspires me to stand up for my beliefs, work towards a marriage in the temple and most of all, it helped me to have an even greater desire to help the people here in Houlton learn about the gospel. So they can have forever families too!
Sunday: We had some wonderful testimonies at church, and I was finally able to meet most of the branch!
Overall I had a great week, I've learned a lot about prayer, service, and perseverance, I've learned that God will always strengthen us in times of need. And most of all I'm continually learning that through Christ's atonement every weakness, every mistake, every imperfection, can be made perfect and whole. How thankful I am for the Savior, and that He Lives!
Have a wonderful week. I hope you enjoy conference. For those of you who might not know. Conference is on Saturday and Sunday, and you can watch it at lds.org! Check it out! We have living prophets today who are going to speak to the world. It's definitely worth your time.
love you all!
