Hey Everyone!
This was my first week in Houlton, and half of the time I wasn't even in it! We had a crazy week, but it was a lot of fun.
Monday: After we got done with our usual p-day activities we had supper at the Wilkinson's, they have 3 big dogs, 2 are half newfie!!! I love those dogs :D So great. except there was hair... everywhere... that's not so great. Then we drove to Fredericton to spend the night, we had a mini MTC reunion! Sister Lybbert and Sister Christiansen were there.
Tuesday: We woke up around 4AM and headed out by 5 to get to Truro, Nova Scotia! Here we attended a Mission Wide Leadership Meeting! They even flew in the missionaries from Newfoundland! The day was AMAZING! I learned so much, and I got to see a lot of familiar faces. Sister Sharp, my trainer! Sister Burton, one of my former companions and STL. Elder Edge, from the Amherst days, and I met Elder Zach Hansen from Springville! It was a fun time to catch up with the people I love, but most importantly we learned about being true, Christ like leaders. We drove to Fredericton around 6:30 and because of horrible snow conditions we arrived back home after 11 that evening. But we made it safe!
Wednesday: We drove back to Houlton just in time for a skpe district meeting! It was supposed to be in Caribou but the Elders somehow ended up staying in Fredericton so they did the training combined with those missionaries. We had the rest of the day to work in our area!
Thursday: As usual we headed up to Canada, we had some close encounters at a friend's house who has 7 rescue dogs! There was a scarier dog we met while knocking, it came over to us and barked and growled, but eventually let me pet it, a real sweetheart! The Marshall's had us over for supper, they are so great and we had the Book of Mormon study and it was a lot of fun!
Friday: Weekly planning days, woo. Our weekly planning got disrupted by some of the other activities, correlation with the Elders, Skype trainings and more fun stuff!
Saturday: We drove to Presque Isle and I went on my very first exchange as a Sister Training Leader! Sister Creager and I had a blast checking potential investigators and formers. She's really fun, and a very skilled missionary. And she loves Japanese! That evening we attended a broadcast of Stake Conference, it only worked half of the time. But President Wilson from the Quorum of the 70's came to speak! He was so great!
Sunday: More Stake Conference and this time we could hear the whole thing. Again it was a fantastic meeting!
Over all, we had a great week! And I hope you did too!
lots of love!
