Hey everyone, just another week in Canada. It's been really good, but really crazy!
Monday: We had the wonderful senior missionaries Elder and Sister Hill come down to Montague for apartment inspections. Apparently are apartment is really nice compared to a lot of the other areas. Which is nice, but also now I'm not looking forward to when I get transferred out. I'll probably be here for a while though. Our transfers aren't for another 3 weeks, we're on week 3 right now. So they came and then took us to Sir Isaac's! Sister Sharp and I tried a Burger Love burger! It's a huge competition here between restaurants, so I'm glad I got to try one. It was really good! We had to split one for the two of us though because they are huge. haha. We ended the day with a lesson with our solid investigator.
Tuesday: after a seemingly unproductive day in the area, (We tried our hardest, but every day is hide from the missionaries day!) we drove to Charlottetown to go to the BYU-I sinfonetta at St. Dunstens Basilica. It was a benefit fundraiser and there was a lot, A LOT of mention given to the Church, so that was fantastic. The music was also incredibly beautiful. President Leavitt came and they all said what a treat it was we got to attend this during our missions.
Wednesday: This was just a weird day. We drove out to Murray River, and there's like nothing there! ok well there are a lot of houses, but no people. It wasn't very productive but we had to try something new. There was a funny experience. We were knocking and we were going to the next house and Sister Sharp said, "Let's not go to that one, there's no one there." and I said, "You never know! We're going to it. That's what missionaries do!" And right as we said that two guys walked out of the house and stood on the porch! Boom! We went and talked to them haha it was great.
Thursday: It rained and it poured. we knocked a lot. And we had an old guy come to the door without proper pants on. Sheesh! That was awkward. We met with a friend and she was really really struggling. So we started sending her texts every morning with a scripture to study about faith. We thought it would help.
Friday: Weekly planning! woot woot. We did service at a woman's house. She had a lot of sticks to pick up! It felt really great to get out and serve, and President Dourte was there too. She had never met us before and genuinely appreciated our help. She said, "It's been fourteen years since I've seen such kind and helpful teenagers." Hard to believe, but it was so great to help. We then went over to Cathy and Mama Shumate's where they stuffed us full to the brim again. We had Chicken and potatoes and green beans and cranberries. It felt like thanksgiving. then we taught another friend. she's a lot like sister sharp. That was a "should have" lesson, we messed up a ton. But we're not going to get discouraged!
Saturday: We worked really hard! We had a wonderful member present lesson with another sister, the scriptures have been helping, she was happy, and confident, and she wants to be baptized! No date yet, she's still hesitant. but that's a good step! We had a crazy bad experience. A man who had wanted us to teach him totally tore into us. We just stopped by to talk to him and he started saying a whole bunch of lies about the Church. It really made me mad. Satan really works hard on people to make them rude and unkind. It's sad.
Sunday: Funny story of the week! After a wonderful day at Church we were out knocking... Sister Sharp went to open the screen door, and it fell off the hinges! She was so freaked out hahaha she was like, "What do I do!?" And some people came to the door and told us it was broken. We found that out the hard way! Worst scare ever, but it was really funny.
So I hope that all of you are doing great! Be the best version of yourself. Remember! Life is a blip in the eternities, and you'll want to look back and be proud of how you lived it!
