Welcome to Amherst everyone!
Well I moved this week. It was sad to say goodbye to everyone but I was feeling pretty good about it. The hardest part was leaving my district. We had some wonderful missionaries, and my companion Sister Sharp was a true sister! I am in Amherst now in Nova Scotia, we have a car (sort of, the Elders just use it all of the time) we have bikes but we don't need them and they aren't very comfortable we are told, and so we walk! Amherst is a little bigger than Montague which is nice. They actually have a Wal-Mart here! Real stores! It's crazy. My new companion is Sister Spencer, she is from Arizona and has been out for one transfer longer than me. I love her! She's amazing and we are already fast friends.
Amherst is a beautiful town with a lot of those Old East Coast mansions. So far everyone has been pretty nice. Our apartment is ridiculous. Ha I think it was made in the seventies. Old flowery wallpaper, big tub, short counters and tall mirrors. The whole 9 yards. But it's a dry place to sleep at night so I have no complaints...
I would send pictures but I was silly and left my camera cord at home! But next week I will send some. Some funny things that happened this week:
Well our first day in the Amherst apartment I put a skillet on the stove. (an old cast iron one.) and a minute later looked over. "Oh, that's on fire." ! There were flames licking up the side of it. We just opened the window and I grabbed it off and blew it out. No biggie. But goodness gracious what a way to start.
We have already been confused with Jehovah's Witness (That happens all of the time) and when Sister Spencer asked one man what went on in town, (like events or service opportunities) he said, "Drugs, and Alcohol." Yep. So that's Amherst. It is a beautiful area though.
I hope everyone is doing well. Keep up the good work!
