Hi everyone,
I hope you are all doing well and having a wonderful time!
Well we had a really fun week!
Monday: We went out to this beautiful spot called "Mad Rock" So cool! Waves, and pretty rocks, it was just gorgeous. That evening we participated in the Community Choir. It was a lot of fun. We sang classics like "Hallelujah" and cute Newfoundland songs like "I's the by" And we even said the "Crawdad Song!" That was made famous to me by my very own dad! I loved it.
Tuesday: We stopped by the town hall to see if they needed volunteers and had some long meetings via skype with the leaders in the mission. They give fabulous training! Then we went out to Carbonear to visit some members! That was really fun. The people here are so sweet and friendly! The fun part was seeing an Iceberg! They have started floating out into our bays! Cool!
Wednesday: After District meeting I went with Sister Fenn to St. John's on exchanges! Wohoo! We taught two great lessons. They have some wonderful members and investigators up that way. And it was really fun to be with Sister Fenn again!
Thursday: Sister Hoy came to pick me up and we all went out to lunch at Smokes Poutinery, Wow, they know how to do Poutine! I had Bacon Cheeseburger Poutine. Yes. So crazy, but also delicious!
Friday: After Weekly Planning we correlated with the other missionaries and then went "service finding" We just went to different places around town and offered to volunteer. We actually had a lot of fun and met some great people! We also went down to South River and tried finding some former investigators. We had some really interesting experiences with that.
Saturday: Another Service day! We helped a member organize part of her house and then we volunteered at the SPCA thrift store! I love being able to serve others. It helps us feel like we really are saying and doing what Jesus Christ would do if he were here. And that's wonderful.
Sunday: Happy Mothers Day! I had a wonderful blessing of speaking at church for Mothers Day. I certainly am thankful for my mother and how she has helped me in my life! When some of our plans fell through in the afternoon we stopped by some people who had said we could come back. I know the Lord wanted us to talk with them! we were able to speak with a man who had lost both his mother and his wife and was terribly low. We shared with him the hopeful message of the Plan of Salvation and left a pamphlet with him (we couldn't go in because it was just the two of us) We really hope to go back and teach him so that he can know for himself that he will see his loved ones again!
And of course, we got to skype home! What a joy it was to see my family. I love them so much. I'm so grateful for all that they have done for me. This is a wonderful time to live in. And I am thankful to have a forever family.
Love you all!
