Hey Everybody, how have you been? By the way my mailbox looked last week I hope any of you are still alive, there must be a epidemic sweeping through the nation killing off everyone who would otherwise be writing me faithfully once a month ;) Just kidding.
Well here's what I have been up to!
Monday: Well we cleaned a lot haha, President Leavitt was coming for in person interviews so we scrubbed and cleaned and made everything perfect! And we met with two recent converts and had great lessons with them.
Tuesday: President came, we had a very nice discussion and he is going to help train all of us on some of the basic skills missionaries have that we might have missed so we are all doing a lot this week. Then we went to a District meeting in Moncton. An had supper with our lovely friend Debbie, I always love going to her place. Then we went to Young Womans and I found out I've never been on Family Search before! What a shame! It's a great website to do family history on! Then Sister Spencer and I taught Institute for the very first time. it was very exciting. I love the new testament, I feel like I learn so much about the Savior when I read and go in depth in studying there.
Wednesday: We visited a lot of the Less Active members in Parsborro a really beautiful area near Amherst. Then we had a great lesson with our investigators. Then the Sister Training Leaders, Sister Coleman and Sister Burton came to Amherst for the night.
Thursdays: We did visits with the Sisters all day, switching off who we were with. So we went to Sackville and taught a lesson, did some knocking and visited less actives. It was a lot of fun, we talked a lot about leadership, about love, and in doing our best!
Friday: After weekly planning we helped the Rance family get ready for their Moving Sale, and we had super that the Veinots before we went to our Branch activity which was a movie night! We watched Forever Strong. And I pointed out to everyone every time they filmed part of it in Springville! Unfortunately the movie didn't end until after 9 so we missed the last of it... guess I'll just have to wait until fall of 2015 to finish watching it haha.
Saturday: I was tech-xalted! This means I switched my facebook over to a missionary facebook! So I can now use that in missionary work, I can't chat with old friends or anything but I can post things that are going on and stay connected that way. We had a couple of things fall through and that was disappointing for the rest of the day.
Sunday: President Leavitt, Sister Leavitt, and President Patteson all came to church to give talks and such. That was a lot of fun! We learned about family history, being missionaries and that sort of thing. Afterwards we had a linger longer and the food was so scrumptious! there's nothing better than good conversation with friends. President Leavitt then came to our apartment and taught us more about some of the record keeping parts of missionary work. Then we met with our investigator! He dropped off the face of the earth for a week. Just kidding, he was just really busy. But then we were able to have a great lesson! What a way to end the day.
So we had a great-busy-crazy week. Your typical missionary life.
Hope to hear from you soon!
Love,
Sister Smith
